STALKER 2: Cost of Hope was revealed back in March, and now GSC Game World has confirmed that players will be able to get their hands on the expansion from August 20th. The new expansion will add two new regions, the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant that is now calling stalkers back in, and the Iron Forest, which is a maze of paths and uncharted locations. Each region has its own hub, quests and activities, while there’s new weapons and gear to stock up on.

In STALKER 2 Cost of Hope players will remain as main protagonist Skif, with the content of the expansion merged into the world. It will appear as a signal on the PDA if you get the content, opening up the questline. Cost of Hope also sees the factions of Duty and Freedom at war as their opposing viewpoints come to a head. Cost of Hope is not going to be the last expansion for STALKER 2, with another to come out that will wrap up the full story.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl Review

In our STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl review, Miguel said, “STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is an immersive experience like no other. It’s a tense shooter, a gripping survival experience, an immersive explorable sandbox, and a stunning piece of art come to life despite the harrowing circumstances of the team behind it all.”
