We got our first real glimpse of Crimson Moon back in the February State of Play, and now ProbablyMonsters is back with a new announcement about the game. That announcement is that Crimson Moon will be available from September 1st, priced at $19.99 for the standard edition and the $29.99 deluxe edition. There is also a new trailer that shows some the violent action waiting for players.
Crimson Moon is an action adventure RPG in which players take on the role of a human angel hybrid Nephilim, sent to the fallen city of Gildenarch to save humanity. The game can be played solo or in co-op, with the world difficulty scaling to the number of players. It does seem Crimson Moon will require a number of runs to get to the final boss, as players need to fight through the three districts of Gildenarch to take on a world boss. There are three world bosses and the final boss will only make an appearance once the world bosses are beaten. The deluxe edition of Crimson Moon will include the Ceremonial Armor Set and the Axe of the Gods weapon cosmetic, as well as access to the expansion that will come later.
“We’ve made Crimson Moon an intense action-adventure RPG that’s approachable to players. We want as many people as possible to enjoy it, and we priced it with that in mind,” said ProbablyMonsters General Manager and Game Director David Lesperance. “With our gothic-inspired art design, co-op support, and epic metal soundtrack, we’ve made something truly unique for gamers to experience this September.”
The Crimson Moon soundtrack has been composed by lead composer Chris Wilson and music manager Steve Pardo with collaborations with the likes of HEALTH, Jared Dines, Misha Mansoor, and Ricky Armellino. Crimson Moon will be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series XS.
