Beaten Path is a tactical turn based RPG coming in 2027

There is a new tactical turn based RPG to keep your eyes on, with publisher Wales Interactive and developer Peacebreak Studio announcing Beaten Path. Beaten Path has taken its inspiration from Final Fantasy Tactics and Fire Emblem, with those inspirations coming through in the game’s announcement trailer which shows both combat and world exploration.

The story of Beaten Path follows Panna and her companions in a world where the gods have fallen. Panna’s journey leads her to discover lost histories including memories and wars, as well as mythical powers. Panna can partner up with 25 different characters, each with their own abilities, weapons, and jobs. The job system allows characters to equip two jobs, with each of the jobs having their own skill trees.

Jarett Gross of  Peacebreak Studio gave a bit of an insight about Beaten Path and why he is developing it. “I started Beaten Path because I wanted to make the kind of tactical RPG I love playing, with meaningful strategy, lots of room for customisation, and a world players can spend time in beyond the battles. It has now been in development for almost five years, and over that time it has grown into something much bigger than I first imagined. The support from the community has meant a lot, and partnering with Wales Interactive is an exciting next step that gives us the chance to bring Beaten Path to more players across PC and consoles. I’m really looking forward to sharing more as development continues.”

Beaten Path is due to be released in 2027 with it set to be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series XS, and Switch.
