Announced during the 2021 Microsoft and Bethesda Showcase with a CGI trailer for the game, Contraband was in development for at least four years before it was cancelled.
Soon after, Avalanche Liverpool, the team that were developing the game, were shut down, and that’s the last we heard of the title – until now.
YouTuber Luke JC has found assets from Contraband hidden away in Call of the Wild: The Angler, a fishing game that was also developed by Avalanche.
Locations, vehicles, mechanics and assets have all been uncovered and can be used, the video shows Luke speeding around in a boat and flying a helicopter.
