Resolution Games has announced that Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked will launch on Xbox and receive a fresh DLC campaign on 22nd September. An auspicious day for fans of the digital tabletop game, to be sure!
Unless you’re playing on Switch 2 or Pico, because those versions of the DLC will be running a little late.
Campaign III: Twilight’s End will be a new premium DLC, priced at $9.99 USD, and add a third campaign to round out the story arc established in the main game’s release last year.
The climactic battle in Twilight’s End will return players and their heroes to the lands around Neverwinter, now scarred by war and a new threat. You’ll have to journey across the Silver Marches, Neverwinter Wood and Icewind Dale to uncover plots, battle new foes and decide the fate of the realm. The campaign should last around six hours for the main journey, but there’s some side quests on the way as well.
While it has D&D in the title, Battlemarked is mainly built on the Demeo Action Roleplaying System, but has adopted the setting and characterisation of the iconic tabletop RPG. It’s playable both on flat screen and in VR, and has crossplay across all its platforms.
The game has evolved since its release last November, Resolution Games taking feedback on board about player progression, solo and multiplayer systems, and adding some lighter content, like a Christmas-themed scenario and a new class to go alongside the Switch 2 launch.
But for our original review, I said, “Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is a thoroughly enjoyable crossover sequel that takes the dungeon crawling of Demeo and wraps it in the warm blanket of Dungeons & Dragons themes, tropes and light RPG storytelling. There’s a few nagging annoyances with the controls and only minimal hero customisation, but there’s a cosiness to playing with friends and “accidentally” catching them in the blast radius of an explosive barrel.”
