Ubisoft has revealed Rainbow Six Tactics, a top-down turn-based spin-off to their hit tactical shooter.

The game will feature a suite a 15 operators to choose from, each with specific abilities, recon tools, gadgets and more… but this time you’re playing as Six, and commanding the full unit. Between missions, you can upgrade their base of operations and manage their progression.

The Rainbow Six Tactics campaign will feature dozens of missions around the globe, bouncing between missions including hostage rescue, bomb disposal, and target elimination. You’ll be dropping into various scenarios where careful planning, execution and coordinated breaches will be key. line of sight, enemy cover and creating alternative entry points through the use of destructible environments will all be key.

The Breach feature takes the person-by-person action and combines it into a synchronised assault that breaks the turn-based structure so that all operators can move at once in a decisive strike.

It’s a logical spin on the classic tactical shooter series, and we’re keen to see a good bit more with the game set for release in 2027, coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
