Croteam and Devolver Digital have shared a first gameplay trailer for the trilogy-ending The Talos Principle 3. The game is coming to PS5 and PC in 2027.

The Talos Principle 3 will strand players within the Anomaly, a place in the universe where the laws of physics don’t work, and with fragmented memories to try and piece together. From here, you’ll explore dozens of new worlds, each with its own characters, stories and puzzles. There’s floating block islands, Halo-like ring worlds, giant mushroom worlds and more featured within the trailer.

It also the puzzle mechanics on show bring their own new quirks, with blocks that can defy gravity when powered up, lifting power blocks to the ceiling and more.

The Talos Principle series, though, has built its reputation upon its deeply philosophical story. Through this game, you will relive your life as an explorer, and the history of the world that humanity built. Is the Anomaly Heaven or Hell? Probably neither, but you can’t be too sure. Heaven. Some say it’s Hell. All that’s certain is that judgement awaits.

The original game arrived in 2014 to great acclaim, with Croteam taking a much more cerebral approach to their world creation than they did with Serious Sam, delving into human philosophy as as post-mankind mind explores consciousness, self-determination and more. This game was eventually succeeded by The Talos Principle 2 in 2023, now with a growing society suddenly finding its understanding of the world challenged. A remake of the original arrived in 2025 for good measure, updating and reimagining certain aspects of it.

Looking back on the second game, Steve said in our review, “Talos Principle 2 is the best puzzler since 2011. This is as good as the genre gets and absolutely essential for puzzle game fans.”
