The GTA 6 launch trailer is here, over a month before launch

Rockstar has just dropped the launch trailer for GTA 6, and before you run to the calendar hanging in your kitchen to check if you’ve been in a coma for a month, yes, they have pushed the trailer live over a month before the 19th November release date for the game itself!

There’s also a handy blurb to describe the story running through Grand Theft Auto VI:

Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.

The trailer features a new standalne single from Justice, called Flower in a Hurricane, and featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard – just one track from the absolutely stacked original soundtrack that’s been created for the game.

Of course, with a game this big, it does make sense that Take Two, Rockstar, PlayStation and everyone else is really going to ramp up on the marketing. Yes, it’s early for a typical game launch to have a “launch trailer”, but for what’s expected to be the biggest entertainment launch of all time, and when most other publishers and developers have vacated November for their game launches to avoid getting stomped, there’s a bit of a marketing vacuum.

Last week, Rockstar shared details of the in-game radio stations and the all-star cast of hosts, as well as the ability to listen to podcasts.
