Rich Vogel, formerly one of BioWare’s leading lights, left the company earlier this year. Now he’s going to work for Bethesda’s parent company, ZeniMax, in Austin Texas. The new studio Vogel will be helping to establish is called Battlecry and will be based alongside Arkane – another Bethesda studio, most recently responsible for Dishonored development.
Vogel co-founded BioWare Austin and has a rich (pun intended) history of MMO development for companies including Sony Online Entertainment and 3DO.
Battlecry Studios are currently advertising a number of vacancies, including art directors, programmers and designers. Perhaps most tellingly, one of their vacancies is for a monetisation designer. That would indicate that they’re looking for someone who knows how to handle microtransactions, perhaps for another MMO or something on the increasingly popular free-to-play model.

This is the third departure from Bioware within 2 months. Either it is truely the begining of the end for Bioware(DAMM YOU EA!) or just coincdence.
I really hope we won’t see mini transactions in any of the Elder Scrolls games as that would ruin the experience. Why explore when you can get this daedric weapon of one hit one kill enemies for only £2. :-/
