Looking to build on its popular video game adaptation, Wizards of the Coast is adding “Slivers” and “Sealed Play” to this year’s Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014.
For the uninitiated, Slivers are a unique type of creature which respond to hive minds. Cards which share the Sliver trait can transfer abilities, creating yet another dynamic to MTG’s robust mechanics.
They’ve been revised somewhat since their debut in the original trading card game, but can prove indomitable if deployed effectively.
Another feature making its first appearance in Duels of the Planeswalkers is sealed play. Accompanied by its own six-part campaign, this game mode allows players to forge decks from a pre-existing pools and pit them against the AI and other players via network play.
2014 launches later this year for PSN, XBL, Steam, iPad and Android. Like previous instalments, it will be an opportune gateway for those looking to get into the popular TCG.

Would love a MTG game for the Vita. But I will definitely be picking this up when it releases.

I’ve never been in contact with real world Magic, but these games are great for late-night gaming.
I’ve got all of them on PS3, but I might just go PC with this one if there’s no Vita version.
It’s perhaps the only series I actually like having annual releases.
