Game Expo Scotland To Debut Next Year

There will be a brand new gaming event, Game Expo Scotland debuting next year. The show is hosted by Magdala Media Ltd. and will be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) on the 4th and 5th of October next year.

While the event focuses on Scottish talent, it will bring together AAA and indie projects along with retro games, developer sessions, competitions and a lot more that is yet to be announced.

This is great for the UK and Scottish games industry, considering that the biggest game in the world is developed in the heart of Edinburgh and two of the UK’s top Universities for video game development are situated in Scotland. Rowan Mackie, founder of Magdala Media spoke about the event:

As Scotland has such a rich and diverse video games industry, alongside a passionate gaming community, their feedback and continued input is what will make Games Expo Scotland 2014 stand out from other UK games events and become the premier Scottish expo for all things video games.

We’re not quite sure how big it’ll be – certainly not quite Eurogamer Expo standards in its first year – but we’re already putting plans together to go. Keep an eye on their twitter account, Facebook page and website for updates.

  1. Great news. Does that mean Rockstar will finally attend an expo? Oh wait, no, of course not. Rockstar don’t do fan service!

  2. Awesome, shame it will be my last year in Edinburgh when it happens, but glad there will be something coming to Scotland!

  3. Great news. It’s about time that Scotland had a decent VG show. I attended a wee show in Edinburgh a while ago but it was pretty poor compared to E3 and the likes, so hopefully this’ll be much better than the one I visited.
