It would seem that Assassin’s Creed IV is set to get its first DLC pack on December 17th. This time, the date was revealed through the digital issue of January’s Game Informer, with Videogamer spotting and reporting upon it.
Titled Freedom Cry, it will let players visit a new slice single player story, centered around the Jackdaw’s Quartermaster, Adéwalé, and his fight against slavery. It will also mark the second time that we get to play as someone completely unrelated to Desmond.
The advert lists both current and last generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles, presumably tying all four to this release date. The PC is conspicuous by its absense on the advert, while the Wii U will not be seeing any DLC for AC4.
There is plenty more DLC set to come for AC4, and there is a season pass to buy if you want it all. The most likely next step was leaked by the trophy list for Blackbeard’s Wrath appearing a few weeks back, presumably letting us step into the shoes of the legendary pirate.

Not sure whether to get this game for Christmas or wait for a ‘complete edition’

Never played an AC game before but I’ve been impressed with everything I’ve seen and heard of it so very tempted to get this.

It stands out from the rest in terms of story, so it’s not a bad place to start. I’m not far into it yet, but there doesn’t seem to be many ties to previous games.

If you havent played any of them I would recommend this one or ac2. Others are a bit meh compared to these ones

Cheers KennyK & dizwod, haven’t got the space to have two consoles under tv at the moment so decided to get AC4 on PS4.

Assassins Creed 2 is definitely the best story and at times I think it spoiled the rest of the series as the stories for the following games have to date not been as strong
