Someone is currently having a bad Tuesday as they have pressed a button that placed information regarding the as yet unannounced Aliens: Isolation game on the Xbox store.

It confirms the game is being developed by Creative Assembly, has a single player offline campaign and a four player online component. The release date seems to be a place holder as it is Tuesday 1st July, and there is a handy plot synopsis:
Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother’s disappearance.
As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien. Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.”
This confirms a previous leaks that the game will star Ripley’s daughter.
Sega is said to have taken the critical reception to Aliens: Colonial Marines “very seriously” and want to make a much better game in the style of Bioshock or Dishonored with just one Alien for most of the game.
Previous leaks have revealed that enemies will be clones and soldiers, with melee attacks, vents and lockers playing “a big part” in the title which is heavily influenced by the first Alien film.

it already sounds miles better than the gearbox game.

Although it’s clearly their name on the box, it’s always a bit galling to me that A:CM is described as a ‘Gearbox game’. A:CM was predominantly developed by TimeGate Studios, after Gearbox got their resourcing wrong admittedly, but I’d say that makes it a TimeGate game, and something that shouldn’t tarnish the factory floor talent at Gearbox.
Gearbox have definitely had a few missteps, and Duke Nukem is arguably the worst game they’ve made (maybe even the worst game ever), but I suspect that even this came from poor management rather than a lack of design or technical talent. The Borderlands games are examples of some of the finest and most consistent artistic direction in the last generation, and it’s technically a very competent shooter. I really believe that if Gearbox put their hearts and minds into it they’d do the Alien franchise justice of the kind that it hasn’t seen since the first AvP on the PC.
Of course, what’s ironic here is that A:CM must be one of the better selling games of last year, thanks to many outlets immediately cutting the price to ridiculous levels in response to the mass of negative press. You can pick up the GAME special edition for £3 brand new, even now! Bonkers…

but gearbox seem to have taken most of the money sega paid to get it made though.
i picked it up for a fiver from Asda.
and Game had the super duper special edition version, that may not be the official name, for 15 quid.
the one with the power loader figure.
that figure is damned cool.
the dossier is pretty nice too.
a spec sheet for the Sephora, a set of orders, a couple of USMC iron on badges and a USMC academy completion certificate.
gave the game to my brother but kept the figure.
the game sucks, but as a piece of memorabilia, it’s pretty cool.

Sounds Pretty good. I avoided CM like the plague, but this has very much got my attention

Im amazed they are making another Aliens game after the tripe that was served up last time.
Remember all the hype behind that game too, this will be no different.
Eldaveo

How far in advance do Sony/ Microsoft have these details before a game is even announced? Obviously would be sometime but am very curious to this now :)
