Battlefield 4 Naval Strike DLC Delayed On PC And Xbox One

The latest Battlefield 4 DLC, entitled Naval Strike, has been delayed at the last minute on both PC and Xbox One.

“Quality is our number one priority and we will not release Battlefield 4 Naval Strike until we feel it meets the highest quality level possible,” explained a blog post by EA.

We have delayed the PC version of Naval Strike because we are concerned that the combination of the pack and planned PC updates would increase performance issues on mid-range to high-end PCs. We are working hard to resolve that issue now. Additionally, we have decided to delay the Xbox One version of Naval Strike because we want to address issues in the animation system that hinder players from engaging targets in set circumstances using popular weapon configurations.

We know that many Battlefield 4 Premium owners wanted to play Naval Strike today. However, we didn’t want to release the new content until we believed it was quality content.

Battlefield 4 Premium members on PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360 are able to download the DLC, which includes four new maps and a Titan mode.

  1. What a shambles bf4 has been since it’s release. Patch after patch and it’s still not right. I sincerely hope ea get sued for releasing it to early

  2. Judging by the lag on the ps4 version last night they probably should have delayed that too….

    • The rubber-banding was so bad as to make it unplayable. Eventually gave up.

    • Oh dear, I was looking forward to playing this tonight but the lag thing is sounding a bit worrying.
What mode were you guys playing it on? I usually don’t get rubber banding/lag issues as I tend to stick to Rush.

      • I was on 64 player maps so that’s probably why. Problem is no where near as prolific on 32 player maps, but there didn’t seem to be many 32 player servers :(

And yeah, same issue, the rubber banding. Nothing more annoying than point at someone, and all of a sudden they’re 6foot to the left and emptying a clip into you :(

I wish they would fix it, my initial impression of the new maps is that they are fantastic. Just gonna stick to 32player maps for now :/

      • Hopefully I should be OK on Rush then. I’ll give it a bash tonight.

  3. If they are so concerned about quality, how did they ever release the game in the first place?!

I still haven’t got any further than passed the hotel in the single player on my PS4 as I cannot save my game!!!

  4. “Quality is our number one priority” – Laughed at that for a good 5 minutes.

Clearly it isn’t, otherwise they wouldn’t have released the game when it was basically still in Alpha. I love Battlefield, but it’s getting really hard to keep it up. What’s worse is that if you play the game on AMD cards(their hardware partner) the game seems to run worse on your PC.
