Microsoft Announces E3 Conference Details, Called Xbox: Game On

Microsoft has announced the time and date for its E3 conference, stating that it will take place on Monday 9th June at 9:30am PDT. For UK residents that a nice 5:30 PM start or 6:30 PM in most of mainland Europe. There’s no indication for how long the event will run for but last year’s was 90 minutes long, though that included a huge section dedicated to the Xbox One. A similar time frame may be in order this year depending on how many games Microsoft will be unveiling during the event.

Since the conference is called Xbox: Game On we’ll probably see plenty of titles. We might get some new footage of Halo 5, a possible look at Black Tusk’s Gears of War even if it just a teaser and title, as well as a release date for Fable Legends. Of course there will likely be a few new IPs also making their presence felt on stage, though what they’ll be and who they’ll come from is something we can only speculate about. We’ll probably also hear more about the shows coming to Xbox Originals, including some trailers there too.

You’ll be able to watch the stream through Xbox.com and through Xbox Live, or you can tune into TheSixthAxis where we’ll bring the news has it happens.

  1. So MS has realised a console is for gaming!

    • Hopefully MS and Sony will realize a console can also do other things, like play CD’s.

      • CD’s? Weren’t they the shiny discs things that were used to play music in the olden days? :)

  2. “Game On” sounds fairly confident, it will be interesting to see what they’ve got hidden up their sleeve.

  3. I think we’ll see a fair old chunk of Sunset Overdrive, a proper reveal of Halo, an incredibly pointless teaser for Gears (just going on the basis of them asking fans for ideas last week – clearly haven’t even started all that much!), stuff on Fable, then Halo anniversary 2, halo TV, gameplay of the new COD, lots of indies (trying to steal some limelight), and then crackdown, Forza Horizon 2, and whatever else they’ve mustered up. Oh, and a fair slice of Quantum Break.

I don’t actually think there’ll be that much in terms of new IP, a couple maybe, but I think they’re relying on their current fan base.

Either way – can’t effin wait for E3!

  4. Very much looking forward to their conference. I hated my X1 when I first got it as it felt so unfinished. Since the recent updates, things are a lot better and I find myself playing it more than my PS4 at the moment. It’s hard to describe but it just feels like a more “next-gen” console.

Of course, now the consoles are out in the wild, this year is when the first proper X1/PS4 games will be coming out, so I’m really looking forward to see what they have up their sleeves.

  5. This years Microsofts conference is called ” 2013 E3? What? That never happened! Look, we have GAMES this time! YOLO 2014″ Yup…. nice cable TV box guys.
