No Man’s Sky really managed to capture the imagination when it was first revealed, but after the announcement questions were asked of what you actually can do in the game. Well some of that has been explained since the reveal, but tonight at Sony’s E3 conference Hello Games’ Sean Murray took to the stage to show off the scale of the No Man’s Sky universe, and it is really big. Sean picked a location at random and off his ship went.
The planet that he landed on, the first time ever seen by anyone, had yellow grass and dark red plants growing around them. There were some structures and some alien fauna too. Here the destructible environment was shown off, and it was re-confirmed that all planets will have such environments. Then the Sentinels turned up, hulking machines tasked with protecting the planets from the explorers that arrive. They will attack on sight. Finally a release date is coming soon, though not sure exactly when that will be announced.

The often overused term epic in scale is for once, totally justified with this game.

BOOM! There goes another top line PlayStation game! Sony have really made me sit up this morning. Only a few days ago I was thinking about how my PS4 is not really being used, and now they say “Hello” and show us this type of presentation. Well done, Sony!

Incredible, the mind boggles at the scope of it all. It was a shame that the demo wasn’t longer so that he could spend more time showing the space combat etc but i am certain now that this is going to be my kind of game.

It’s weird to think that we could play this game every day for the rest of our lives and most of us will never see this planet again.
Really looking forward to this one.
