In a very brief announcement, Bungie has confirmed the return of its Iron Banner event. Lord Saladin is making his way to The Tower as we speak and will open the door to all Guardians from 10AM PT, or 6PM BST for us locals.
For those out of the loop, Iron Banner is a temporary PvP (player versus player) focused event in which Guardians can earn faction rep to unlock some very exclusive gear. Aside from special playercards and armour shaders, Lord Saladin will be packing Gauntlets, Chest, a Machine Gun, and Skorri’s Revenge (a legendary Pulse Rifle).

For the first time ever, there is nothing I want from that iron banner. The armour drops at level 32 so it’s pointless and that pulse rifle has ridiculously low impact. There is the etheric light you can buy from it, but that’s a lot of grinding for 6 light!

Cannot be fecked to drag myself through another of these, it’s like having a second bloody job for a week – if they ran for a fortnight I may be more inclined to give it a crack.
Destiny could learn a lot from Warframe in terms of content – I’m very annoyed that the next expansion is going to be so expensive, never mind anything other than free, given the paucity of content for our 90 quid so far.
In Destiny, Bungie have created the best FPS mechanics in the world – and given us precious little to shoot at for our (considerable) investment.
And yet despite this – I still kinda love it, playing Destiny these days is like bumping into an ex who drives you mad after a couple of hours, but knew just how to bang.
