Konami have always said they would make another Metal Gear game and they seem to have started the process. The announcement appears to be a response to Kojiama’s recent revelation that he is restarting Kojima Productions and will be making a game that will be console exclusive on PlayStation 4.
“We are now recruiting a wide range of highly-skilled game development professionals who wish to work with us on the creation of NEW METAL GEAR,” reads the Konami advert.
It’s interesting that Konami are only using the phrase “Metal Gear” rather than “Metal Gear Solid”, maybe they are planning a sequel to Revegeance.

Can’t say I’m too interested in a new Metal Gear game anyway, whether it’s from Konami or Kojima.
In fact, I can’t say I’d be too interested in any game from Konami or Kojima full stop. I didn’t like the first Metal Gear game I tried a few years back with the 1,000 hrs of cutscenes & I didn’t particular enjoy the latest one much either after the first 3 or 4 hours.

I’m with you, although I did enjoy the million hours of cutscenes I’m pretty sure they’ll be a lot less special without Kojima. 5 didn’t feel finished enough for me, I think I’ll settle on 4 as my favourite :)

If MGSV is any indication of what happens to an MGS game when Konami get too involved, count me out. The first act was great, the second butchered act, not so much!

Good fucking luck, Konami as most will avoid working for you. You destroyed your own reputation with your methods and driving away Kojima and his team results in no-one really wanting to risk being treated like a pencil. It is probably MGS:Online or just a crap game for IOS and other mobile games. That said, i kinda hope it is MGS:Rising Revegance 2 and that Platium Games are going to be able to work on it.
I’m guessing this is their reaction to Kojima teaming up with Sony and a petty FU to him. Poor show, Konami. There is a reason why #fuckkonami is a thing. Even EA failed to get this amount of hate during their Electronic arseholes phases!

Not saying you are wrong, but is it even known what actually happened as yet? I know small titbits of info are now slipping out now that people can seemingly talk about it, but I thought it was all still relatively unknown as to what exactly went down?

The only thing I get from the removal of the ‘Solid’ is that it won’t in any way be related to Solid Snake?
Will probably have plenty of Metal Gears though. ;)
