After eighteen years creating games such as Rayman Legends, Child of Light and Valiant Hearts, Ubisoft will close their Casablanca studio on June 13th.
“Ubisoft Casablanca has been part of Ubisoft for 18 years, and contributed to a lot of memorable games over the years, especially on portable consoles,” said Ubisoft Mobile executive director Jean-Michel Detoc. “Unfortunately, as the video game market evolved in the past few years, we didn’t find a sustainable formula for the studio within our broader network. We thank the Casablanca team for their hard work throughout the years.”
The studio was home to forty eight employees and Ubisoft “are working with the team to find positions within Ubisoft or assistance for those who will no longer work for the company.”
Hopefully this doesn’t mean the end of the more quirky titles from Ubisoft, Child of Light scored 10/10 when Aran reviewed it, and I gave Valiant Hearts an impressive 8/10.

Ah, this article is a bit misleading, they did not solely develop or even lead development of any of those mentioned games. Just helped out/ported.
