Flying Carpets Games has confirmed it is intending to release its game The Girl And The Robot for PC in the summer, with the PS4 and Wii U editions to follow at some point later this year. The Girl And The Robot is an action adventure title in which players take on the role of both characters as they look to escape from a castle that is under the rule of an evil queen and her army of robots.
The game will contain puzzles in which both characters help each other move through the castle, as well as combat where the robot utilises sword, shield, and a bow to face off against the army. A price is yet to be confirmed.

Co-op but single player. Puzzling. Trapped in a castle. Evil queen to defeat. Can anyone say Ico?! Paying homage (plagiarising though that’s quite possibly unfair) one of the best games of the last 3 generations seems a bit cheeky. But saying that a lesser quality Ico-like game still has the potential to be a good game in its own right. Like Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom was so I’ll happily give benefit of the doubt for the moment.

I hate to be unfair because I’m sure a lot of hard work has gone into this, but I was thinking Ico on a budget. The devs mission is to make ‘unique and original game’, maybe they need to work a bit harder on that.

Don’t think we’re being unfair. There’s a theory isn’t there (can’t recall specifics) that there are only about 5 or 7 story plots in existence and all tales can be linked to one of these and I guess game plots could be looked at in a similar way. If it’s good it’s good and if not then not. Ueda’s doinig it himself with Last Guardian but then he’s more entotled to for obvious reasons. Will still keep an eye on this title regardless and may even pick it up depending on the reviews.
