PlayStation VR might have been the big talking point of last week, but you shouldn’t have expected the launch titles to suddenly dominate the UK charts. Some of the games have put in a respectable showing, with all bar one of the boxed releases getting into the top 40, but it’s the conventional games that still rule the roost.
FIFA 17 enjoys a third week at the top of the league, but there’s a lot of new games in the charts this time, as Gears of War 4 launches in second place, WWE 2K17 slams into fourth, and Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Edition launches in fifth. The first PSVR game is PlayStation VR Worlds in 7th, with Until Dawn: Rush of Blood coming 9th and RIGS managing 12th.
But it gets a bit more disappointing for the rest of the launch lineup. Eve: Valkyrie could only manage 20th, Driveclub VR is in 23rd (though you’d expect it to be bouyed with discounted digital sales for season pass holders), and Battlezone could only muster 28th place, despite being one of the best games on the system, in my opinion.
Ah well, here’s the more concise top 20:

I think the games have done well considering the small install base. Battlefield and Eve were both selling at full price (49.99) on most retailers, whereas RIGS was discounted, and Rush of Blood is only £15.
They should have all been £29.99 at most, just to stimulate sales. Spend £50 on one PSVR game or spend the same amount and get 4 titles online. No brainer really.

Rush of Blood is the best £15 I’ve spent in ages…!

So what was the boxed vr game that didn’t make the top 40??

Surprising, i didn’t expect the first shipment of PSVR would have the numbers to make any impact on the charts.
