Battlefield 1 has been a roaring success so far, and Dice aren’t about to take the foot off the pedal. They’ve detailed some of the things coming to the game in the near future, starting with the Battlefest event in the middle of this month.
Kicking off on November 16th, they’re celebrating the Battlefield series as a whole with activities, log-in rewards, community missions and more. Battlefield 1 in particular is getting the Fog of War game mode, to be found under the Official Custom Games section, which will shroud the map in fog, strip out all visual indicators and send you off into the woods with just a pistol and half a guess at who your teammates are.
This month will also see the first major update to the game, with tons of tweaks and improvements – the Suez map in Conquest is being adjusted quite heavily, though may be a separate update – and the launch of the Rent-a-Server program.
Speaking of servers, those who’d rather not have a map can expect to see Hardcore Servers popping up at some “soon”, and Dice have reiterated that the Giant’s Shadow map will be a free update to the game in December.
So lots to look forward to, in other words.
