Miitomo Gets A Big Update With Custom Rooms And Private Messages

Miitomo was a fun while its little fad lasted earlier this year, but has paled and wilted in comparison to the success of Pokémon Go. That doesn’t mean it’s been forgotten though, and a big new update was released yesterday adding a bunch of new features.

For one thing, you can now send private messages to those on your friends list, which breaks down one of the walls that frustrated before, where you couldn’t use the game to talk to other people, just answer their banal generated questions. Those questions have all been brought into Answer Central, a hub that displays a bunch of public questions and answers that anyone can look at, allowing you to break out of your own social circle.

When you visit someone’s room, you might find it looks rather different to your own now, thanks to room customisation, with a bunch of new items added to Miitomo Drop. Style Central is a little boost for those who like to play dress up (in the game), letting you submit three outfits a day that can then be voted on and receive My Nintendo points.

Finally, Sidekick Mii are secondary characters that you can mess around with. You have one main character, but sidekicks can have their own rooms, be dressed and be set to be public or private.

Of course, the big question is: will you come back to Miitomo?
