Steep Update Adds World Tour Tournaments, Heads To Alaska In February

With the first expansion to Steep on the horizon – a free open world area set in Alaska that’s releasing on 10th February, it’s announced today – Ubisoft have laid the foundations with a new patch today. It’s more than just a bug fix, adding a number of appealing sounding features.

The Steep World Tour Tournament is a new monthly tournament series for the community to take part in. The first of these competitions starts today, challenging players to reach 5000 points in the qualifier phase, before the second phase winnows this down further to the best 32 players on each platform, who can then compete to win Steep credits.

Beyond that, there’s also the new Community Challenges feature, which showcases the best and most inventive challenges created by the community. When then Alaska area is released on 10th February, it will also come with the first Branded Challenges, which will also bring Steep credits and reputation points as rewards. Those will branch out to the Alps in a second phase.
