News Snatch: Suing Psychics, Monster Hunter XX, PlayStation Plus, And Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

It’s Friday which means it’s News Snatch time, rounding up all the bits and bobs of news that slipped through the net, starting with a look at the Switch version of Monster Hunter XX.

Naughty Dog have been speaking about their plans once The Last of Us 2 is in full production, and there’s bad news for a fictitious, but fan favourite title.

So, we can pretty much say the whole studio will be focussed on The Last of Us Part Two once this [Uncharted: Lost Legacy] is over. At some point, parts of the team that will try to figure out what’s next and how that goes when The Last of Us Part Two is full production. We’ll see if there are potential resources to spare which can go into that discovery period, but it’s hard to tell now.

A lot of people went straight from The Last of Us, straight into Uncharted 4, straight into Lost Legacy and those guys need a vacation. And because we started really early on with The Last of Us Part Two it’ll take a while for people in the studio to figure out what’s next, where do we go next and which projects we want to think about … so, if you’re holding out for UnKarted you could be waiting some time.

Rockstar are being sued once again and this time it is because they have allegedly used the character of psychic and fortune teller Miss Cleo. Representatives from the Psychic Readers Network are claiming that the Auntie Poulet, an Haitian gang leader found in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is based on Miss Cleo.

You would have thought a fortune telling network could have forseen this event, but it appears to have taken around fifteen years since the game launched before they noticed. The small matter of her being dead might have got in the way, Miss Cleo is a character who was played by actress Youree Harris who sadly passed away due to cancer. However, before she passed she had many jobs, including voicing a certain Haitian gang leader in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

“These claims are entirely meritless and completely ridiculous. We will vigorously defend ourselves with regard to this matter,” say Rockstar.

Stay tuned for further legal news including a lawsuit from the makers of the film Crank, which starred Jason Statham, who are suing the makers of the film The Transporter, which also starred Jason Statham, for having a lead character who looks and sounds like Jason Statham.

News Snatch is the home to the spiritual home to odd Japanese games, so here is a trailer for Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony.

If you are old you will remember Crash magazine which featured reviews and previews for ZX spectrum games. It closed after 98 issues but there is a Kickstarter campaign to bring it back as a hard cover annual for issue 99, and many of the original staff are involved. It’s already funded but if you would like to back the project click here.

Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night have been announced for PlayStation 4 and Vita.

  1. That uncharted behind the scenes video was a bit rubbish. It was just the developers gushing about the game and saying not much else. I hope they do an actual “behind the scenes” where they show how they actually made the game.

  2. I don’t blame them for wanting a break. Working on Uncharted then TLOU then Uncharted then TLOU again is an easy way to get burnt out and would harm the overall quality. Naughty Dog’s record is pretty much a prefect record(Granted, Uncharted 3 is the weakest in the franchise and well, the set pieces exists just for the sake of it. Roughly 2 or 3 sections, namely the ship, the entire harbour and the flooded ship ones felt like padding). Not a single game of theirs have failed so far. Also, Unkarted. If that ends up being a thing and is a hybrid of Moterstorm, split second and Uncharted, that would be interesting.

*sigh* 15 years and now they suddenly realise it. Bullshit. This stinks of pure greed and there is no way that GTA:Vice City was successful because of a minor character. I mean, it’s not that memorable and i have yet to hear a person recommend GTA:Vice City because of that one character. This is just like the Lindsay Lohan stuff but she had a stronger claim. Which means nothing though. so yeah, go ahead. Try it.

If the panzer tanks game is done in the style of Valkryia chronicles, hell fecking yes!
