Project M has been revealed as a work in progress title by NCSoft. The game is being made in Unreal Engine 5 for consoles, and it looks like there has been some inspiration from Quantic Dreams’ Heavy Rain. The trailer shows what we could expect a bit from the story, including the main character looking to avenge a murder of a loved one. They are killed by a rather strange bomb device. You can check out the trailer below.
Project M’s trailer shows gameplay as well as scenes of motion capture, showing the actors playing out the scenes as they happen in the game. You can see in some moments the button prompts that will lead to actions, with it appearing that in some cases the longer you hold a button the larger the impact of an action.
Moon Young Choi, PDMO (Principal Development Management Officer) of NCSOFT, said, “NCing expresses the company’s commitment to unveil the development process and to continue communicating with the players down the road regarding the new projects.” He also added, “Going forward, we will proactively present our development progress in various forms of content such as trailer videos, interviews, novels, and webtoons.”
There is no release date or window for Project M just yet due to the game being a work in progress, but we look forward to seeing what comes next.
