Wales Interactive has announced that it is bringing forward the early access launch date for Sker Ritual. Originally, the date was set for October 13th but now that date has been changed to October 6th. Sker Ritual is a spiritual successor to horror title Maid of Sker, taking a very different gameplay direction from single player horror to first person co-op shooter.
In a statement, Wales Interactive wrote, “It is with heavy heart that Wales Interactive has decided to CANCEL the Sker Ritual early access launch on October 13th. This decision has not been taken lightly and we understand that this may come as a shock to many of our fans and the Sker Ritual/Maid of Sker community.
In a year where many games have been postponed, we understand that many gamers are left frustrated. That’s why, with the immeasurable support of our players, we have made the decision to release our game this week. On Thursday 6th October at 10am PT/ 6pm BST, Sker Ritual will launch on Steam Early Access.
We are aware of the consequences of allowing our players a full extra week of gameplay but the team believe that Sker Ritual is ready now, and we can’t wait for everyone to explore this new title in the Sker universe. As a thank you for your patience and understanding we have ensured that the earlier release date will coincide with the launch of our Sker Collectors bundle. This will be a “Complete the Set” bundle, so anyone who already owns Maid of Sker will get double the discount savings.
If this statement has got your heart racing, we apologise. We just wanted to prepare you for the intense FPS action you’re about to face on Sker Island. For those affected by this, please reach out to us on Discord where you can enter our giveaway to win a copy of the game.
The Sker Ritual roadmap features four content episodes that will each add new maps, new elites and new bosses to face off against. The first of these episodes is called Cursed Lands of Lavernock with all its objectives, trials and a boss fight to take on. Further episodes are expected to launch in December, February, and April.
