Merry Christmas, everybody!
Whether this is a religious holiday for you or not, here’s hoping that you’re able to gather together with family and maybe a few friends, sharing time and merriment with loved ones in your life. I’m sure that many a gift will be exchanged, that there will be flurries of chaos in families with young children, and a degree of overindulgence through the day (and sleeping it off if we’re sticking to stereotypes). Savour it if you can.

While we can hope for the best for you all, the last few years have proven to be particularly challenging and isolating for millions – there’s a lot of flu going round this year, if not the C-word the blighted the last couple years – and that’s in addition to the yearly trial that Christmas can be for countless other reasons. Christmas brings with it a lot of pressure and expectation for many. As we’ve done in recent years, we’re going to highlight charities and causes surrounding mental health.
If you find yourself needing help or support at this time, Samaritans, Mind, Shout, and Childline are all charities in the UK that focus on mental health, awareness and crisis support. You can reach them via the above links or at the following numbers:

- Childline – call 0800 1111 between 7:30am and 3:30pm every day
- Mind – call their infoline on 0300 123 3393
There’s so many different charities and causes out there that you can support and, if you’re in a position to do so, we would encourage you to do just that.
