HBO has cast Kaitlyn Dever to take on the role of Abby for The Last of Us Season 2, as the story is set to continue. Kaitlyn will join prime pair Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey’s Ellie as they continue to navigate the world. Just as season one took story beats from the original The Last of Us, season two will likely take major story beats from The Last of Us Part Two.
“Our casting process for season two has been identical to season one: we look for world-class actors who embody the souls of the characters in the source material,” said series co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. “Nothing matters more than talent, and we’re thrilled to have an acclaimed performer like Kaitlyn join Pedro, Bella and the rest of our family.”
Kaitlyn Dever has appeared in other TV series such as Dopesick, Unbelievable, and was also the voice of Cassie in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Kaitlyn’s movie credits include Short Term 12, Dear Evan Hansen, and Booksmart.
