EA and Codemasters have revealed the F1 25: 2026 Season Pack, a DLC pack for last year’s full game that will transform it with the latest season’s teams, liveries and brand new era of cars when it launched on 3rd June 2026.
This is a first for the series and for EA to have a new year of a sports series delivered in the form of DLC – the only other example I can think of is with one of the FIFA World Cups being DLC. Even so, this is a full transformation of the game that introduces all of the trappings of the 2026 Formula One season into F1 25.
So there’s the introduction of two new teams: Audi, who have fully rebranded and replaced Sauber, and Cadillac, who are the brand new 11th team on the grid. Cadillac has also brought back Valterri Bottas and Sergio Perez to be their drivers. This means that your custom teams will now be the 12th team on the grid. Alongside that, the new Madring street circuit, set around the IFEMA Exhibition Centre in Madrid is also being added to the game.
At the heart of this is the new ear of cars which have been designed to new rules and regulations for this year. The cars all now have dual mode front and rear wings to shed drag and downforce when in straight line mode, and the engines have been simplified to be be just the ICE and KERS for harvesting battery power under braking, making electrical energy deployment all the more important during the race. Cars do still have an Overtake Mode when close enough to the car in front, though, allowing them to deploy more energy. This has been a sore spot for the real sport, as cars could yo-yo between positions, while cars have been “super clipping” to harvest energy while at full throttle, which has been rather unsightly as cars have been slowing down before the end of the long straights. F1 has made tweaks and changes to improve how the engines harvest and deploy, and it will be very interesting to see how this is represented in the game.
Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters said, “With sweeping regulation changes and new teams and rivalries redefining the grid, players can experience the most significant evolution of the sport in over a decade. We are thrilled to bring these changes to players, including the incredible opportunity to race virtually on the MADRING circuit before the race, and look forward to sharing more soon.”
All of this put together, it still feels surprising that this is a DLC and not a full game release, especially with the completely overhauled car regulations. What this does mean, however, is that it will be available in two ways and at a lower price of entry for existing fans.
The F1 25: 2026 Season Pack DLC will be set at $29.99 | €29.99 | £24.99 on console and $24.99 | €24.99 | £21.99 on PC. Newcomers will be able to pick up the F1 25: 2026 Season Edition at $49.99 | €59.99 | £49.99 on console and $49.99 | €49.99 | £44.99 on PC.
