Konami Kinect Games Dated

Konami has announced release dates for its first batch of Kinect games.  DanceEvolution will be out on November 10th and looks to be in the same vein as Dance Central  in as much as you will be following on-screen routines to various music tracks.  CROSSBOARD 7 will also be out on November 10th, and has you steering a creature down hazardous courses using your body movements.  To be honest these aren’t the type of games that will sway Kinect’s critics, but they could be good fun.

  1. Agreed, Dan. Sony need to focus on some new IP for Move so it’s not known as a device that just augments current titles. I appreciate we have some lovely “touch-based” games swanning their way over to the PSN but they also need to push new titles to attract the casual gamer that much more.

  2. Microsoft really needs some developers to try and come up with some core games for Kinect for it to last. When you look at the line-up of release day software its mainly all casual and party games. Fair enough it will sell with families but most of the people I know who play the xbox aren’t going to be interested in dancing, playing with pets or exercise games, It will be tough for MS to convince them to purchase Kinect.

    • Surely MS are targeting the casual Market – those that bought the Wii & possibly want the next step?? I really don’t think at this stage they are worried about people who already have the console! That may come later if it continues to sell well past the initial batch! Sony on the other hand seem to be trying to please everyone, which may just pay off in the long run? However with MS prepared to throw money at Kinect I feel it will end up being way more popular, despite looking inferior IMHO!
