NeoGeo Games Heading To PSN

Retro-heads jump for joy, as old school classics from the NeoGeo are heading to the PSN courtesy of the ‘NeoGeo Station’ service. These titles will be available for both the PS3 and PSP, but breaking away from the norm SNK Playmore will be optimising and selling the different versions separately.  For example, the PS3 version will cost slightly more but will have online play and friend list support, whilst the PSP version will be priced slightly lower and have ad-hoc multiplayer.

The games to be released will also have some updated features such as being able to save button configurations, and you will also be able to pause and save your current progress, giving you the chance to pick the game up from that point at a later date.

So now onto the games, all of which come with a digital manual.  The initial batch is as follows:

  • Fatal Fury (Garoudensetsu)
  • Metal Slug
  • The King of Fighters ’94
  • Samurai Spirits
  • Super Sidekicks (Tokuten-o)
  • Art of Fighting (Ryuuko no Ken)
  • ASO II Last Guardian
  • League Bowling
  • Baseball Stars Professional
  • Magician Lord

Currently this service has been slated for a December 22nd release in Japan.  The official site does have links to currently inactive US and EU sites, so we expect an announcement shortly.
