Speaking to Famitsu, Capcom’s new Head of Development, Jun Takeuchi, has revealed that the publisher are set to “surprise” gamers this summer with at least two new titles. Intriguingly, the head honcho teases that the games are “original” and are “large scale.” We’re assuming this therefore rules the inevitable Resident Evil 6 out as one of the possible two.
Not that RE6 isn’t real, of course, with Wesker voice actor D.C. Douglas recently speaking with Hell Descent confirming the game exists and he wants in. He said:
“Hell yeah! I know RE6 is in the works, so hopefully I’ll get a chance to audition for it…or you guys could bug Capcom into casting me in it! ;-) I’m workin’ it, baby!”
Capcom have taken some risks with new IP over the last few years. Unfortunately titles such as Bionic Commando and Dark Void didn’t pan out, prompting the development of all new properties from the Osaka-based gaming giant to originate in Japan.

Always interested in anything Capcom come up with but as you say, new IP hasn’t exactly been anything to write home about just recently. Hopefully at least one of the projects is developed in-house.
Can’t wait for RE6, the series is probably in my top 3 and I eagerly await any information.
Ever so slightly off topic, just reading that quote by D.C. Douglas makes me aggravated. They definitely picked the right guy to give a beating to every game.

I really don’t see how Wesker could be in RE6, I’m pretty sure a rocket Launcher and a volcano is enough to assure death. I’m hoping they go for a new angle with the next game. New story and new characters. And a return to the survival horror roots of the franchise. RE4 and 5 were good but the originals were better.

Well I would like to se a remake for Resident Evil 2 with the same gameplay as the original but updated graphics.
That would sell bucketloads considering how popular RE 2 was.

I think it might be the Resident Evil trilogy and 4 in HD.Or DMC collection. If it is RE6 then Wesker won’t be in it as he died and it’s supposed to be a reboot which can be a good thing or a bad thing.
