Sure, it’s not a Metal Gear Solid or a Killzone, but for hardcore tactical RPG fans, anything from Nippon Ichi is a blessing, and the two previous Disgaea games were awesome. Despite the power of the PS3, the Japanese developer has opted to retain the 2D sprites (which don’t look great in high-def) and the gameplay will retain the same basic mechanics, with a few tweaks for good measure. Players will be able to make use of the Geo Block (to alter terrain) and the Geo Panel (stat-altering grid pieces) and the all-new Item World will create random battle stages within each and every item you find, beating them will increase that item’s power.
No word on a European release just yet.
