The recent Take Two Conference Call is an interesting read, not least because of the mention (yet again) of Grand Theft Auto IV and the issue of episodic content. We all know Microsoft spent $50 million to secure exclusive downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version, but reading between the lines of the transcript suggests that further down the line the PS3 may also get the goodies.
Take Two CEO Ben Feder: ‘We also have significant visibility into fiscal 2009, which includes additional episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV, Mafia II, Borderlands, BioShock 2, our complete sports lineup, additional Nick Jr. titles under our agreement with Nickelodeon, and several new brands.’ No specific mention of platform has got us thinking.
Take Two also confirmed that the 360 and PS3 versions of Grand Theft Auto IV (out at the end of April, remember) are identical, aside from the PS3’s warmer colour pallet. So there you go.
