HoYoverse has announced that there will be one final closed test for their open world creature collecting RPG, Honkai: Nexus Anima.
The beta will kick off on 25th November and run across PC, Android and iOS, building up to a full launch in Spring 2027. All that you’ll need to do is sign up to the test via the game website – expected to go live today.
This final closed beta promises some updates on previous tests, with the following highlights:
- New Encounters: The Event Bond system has been updated, with a guaranteed limited Eidos and a free matching Anima Companion.
- New Adventures: Set out on a brand-new journey and unlock richer stories.
- New Characters & Anima: More companions and rivals join the journey, and Chromatic and juvenile Anima make their debut.
- New Settings & Habitats: Iia gains a range of new settings, and the RV and Habitat systems unlock.
- New Gameplay & Combat Upgrades: The Nexus Arena officially opens, and challenge stages get more varied.
Honkai Nexus Anima is a riff on the Honkai setting with creature collecting a la Pokémon. However, when sending your team of creatures – Anima – into battle, this then takes the form of a top-down auto-battler, instead of a traditional RPG.
Nick went hands on at Gamescom, saying “The obvious comparisons to Pokémon aren’t going anywhere, and they probably shouldn’t, but anyone interested in creature collecting is going to look at Nexus Anima and immediately understand the appeal. The auto-battler combat gives battles a different rhythm, the Eidos system adds another layer to team building, the Aspect system gives the Anima their own identity, and the creatures themselves can play a role in exploring Iia.”
