Overlord II

This is more like it, a sequel to Overlord from Codemasters.  A bit of good old-fashioned despotic tyrrany is just what the PS3 needs and OVerlord II – due in 2009 – will be doing just that as the Overlord and the madness that is the Minions make their return.

Overlord II is being developed by Triumph Studios, which seems a fitting name for a game featuring an Overlord.  Lennart Sas, who we think of as the Overlord of Triump Studios had this to say, “Epic battles, all new Minion play mechanics, a stunningly detailed new visuals and a fresh theme – Overlord II’s really packing a punch.”

The action is moving to a different era, with inspiration being taken from the Roman Empire.  Overlord Sas again, “We’re really excited about shifting the world to a new era where a Roman-inspired Empire rises as the arch-enemy of the Overlord, which leads to an epic clash between the regimented forces of a sprawling state and the faster, harder, more manic minion horde.”

The new Overlord will lead a more powerful Minion army as they take on an Empire intent on destroying and conquering all before it.  It’s down to the Overlord and the smarter, deadlier, and more mirth-inducing Minions to get stuck into large scale battles against the organised might of the Empire’s legions.  With the Minion’s new ability to ride animals and destroy buildings and sceneray, alongside their devotion to following the Overlord’s orders, the Empire are going to have their hands full when Overlord II arrives next year.

Hmmm, I’m off to wrestle nofi for title of ‘TSA OVerlord’.
