We’ve known it was coming for a while, but (presumably) in order to shift a few copies of a print magazine, Game Informer has the official exclusive on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The magazine (which is a US one) features 10 pages of world-exclusive details, apparently, and says that “Nathan Drake returns with a whole new adventure which revolves around the 13th century explorer Marco Polo and his voyages”.
Naturally, this is exclusive to PS3 too, and the title will add a “free climbing mechanic and stealth gameplay”. Look out for all-new locations (as you can see from the teaser), new characters and a focus on the game’s story. The magazine also has a scoop on Guitar Hero: Metallica if that’s your thing. We’ll get all the info as soon as we can, but as fredrikpedersen says in our comments below, Nathan’s clearly looking for the Phurba, a three-sided peg, stake or nail like ritual implement traditionally associated with Tibetan Buddhism or Bön, routing the teaser at least to somewhere like Nepal. Interesting stuff.
