Edge magazine has been told by “a trusted US publishing source” that Gears Of War 3 will be released in early April 2011 with a full reveal at E3 this year. The source says the game could be out this year but is being held back.
“Microsoft’s keen to avoid a clash with Halo: Reach and wants Natal to own Christmas. That’s why we won’t be seeing Gears Of War 3 until next year, but expect a major marketing push ahead of its release,” said the source. Microsoft has given the old “does not comment on rumour or speculation” stock answer.
If this source is correct then one thing we can deduce is that Gears Of War 3 does not support Natal – if it did and Gears could be ready for this year surely MS would have it as a launch title?
