Call of Duty: Black Ops’ first teaser trailer debuted over at GTTV during the night. Hailing from the super-franchise’s alternative odd-number releasing studio, Treyarch, if you’re expecting the usual Call of Duty formula of no-nonsense man-on-a-mission tomfoolery, you may be a little surprised at what’s on offer.
A riot of snippets, flashbacks and clandestine shadow-speak, the footage is sure to get fans of the series speculating about the game’s story and structure. With locations such as Vietnam and Cuba already confirmed along with a Cold War slant to the action, this Call of Duty looks to be Treyarch’s further attempts at differentiating themselves from Infinity Ward and shaking off the stigma of being known as the series’ “B-Team.”
