E3 may see the official reveal of Virgin Gaming but more news about Branson’s return to the industry is being discovered.
VirginGaming.com was unveiled by MCV last week, but since then, folks over at MaxConsole.net have dug a little further and are reporting, with 100% confirmation, that Virgin Gaming have taken over WorldGaming.com.
Toronto-based WorldGaming.com is a competition website whereby Xbox 360 and PS3 players compete online for various prizes.
MaxConsole discovered that VirginGaming.com is registered to the same location as WorldGaming.com and decided to give the latter a call. Apparently the receptionist answered the phone as “Rachel from Virgin Gaming” before becoming “cautious” and redirecting them to WorldGaming.
Virgin’s return to the games industry has always been referred to as an online business, and the arrival of a ModNation Racers themed competition on the Virgin Gaming website looks like it backs up reports of the WorldGaming acquisition. The home page of said website will still show a countdown but add a backslash and the word ‘modnation’ to the http address and you end up with this.
If this is 100% genuine then it looks like you need to get on ModNation Racers and hone your skills to be in with a chance of winning some big prizes…courtesy of Virgin Gaming.
