We’ve been talking about it for months, but Sony has finally confirmed an ‘upper’ level of PSN.
The official name is “PlayStation Plus”. Plus will give users access to exclusive content, preferred earlier demos and free content ranging from themes to Minis. Discounts, too.
There’s also automatic downloads, including update patches, as we’ve said before.
The price is $49.99 for a twelve month subscription, and the first month will feature two minis: Fieldrunners and Age of Zombies, the PSone game Rally Cross and the PSN super hit Wipeout HD.
Games will be available whilst your subscription exists.

yes it does very pointless that is so if you dont thesubcription after like a few months or a year cos youve finally found its a rip off and not worth the money u litterally have to buy those games again at FULL PRICE if you wanna carry on playing them

I’m not sure about this. I was almost ready to sign up when he said something about players having access to the content while they are subscribed.
I’m just wondering does this mean that if you subscribe for a year, then the following year don’t subscribe, does all the content you received the previous year get deleted?
Another thing i have to consider is do i want free stuff i’m not particularly interested or already own.. for instance the only one i like out of the above is wipeout HD but i already have it.
I really need to know more about it before i make up my mind but at the moment the shine has gone off it.

yes it means exactly that if you stop subcribing after a few months or so you have to buy wipeout HD if you wanna carry playing it and the other games too

I think he mentioned something about a 3 months free trial, and I’m not sure if the “content available as long as you subscribed” means the test subsciption or the subscription in general. If it’s really the latter, PSN plus got less interesting for me.

Just looked on the Playstation Plus website, it says minimum firmaware needed is 3.40…we are currently on 3.30 which means a new fw update is coming within the week!
