Activision Concerned About Move/Kinect Pricing

Activision COO Thomas Tippl has voiced concerns regarding the pricing of Move and Kinect. Speaking to Gamasutra he said,

“I think as a publisher, you have to be concerned about how the price drives a lot of the outcome of how big of an install base there’s going to be [for hardware].”

“The bigger the install base, the more likely that you can make sense out of your investment. So, the lower the price, the better. In this economic environment, it’s probably more important than ever.”

Wise words Mr Tippl, wise words. Cheaper pricing would mean more sales and the many more games could be developed for the system.

By the way, sold many £120 DJ Hero controllers recently?

  1. I will echo what everyone else has said and say that until they bring the RRP of their COD games down, they have no right to be moaning about what other companies are deciding to price their products at.

  2. This is the same company that sold us the horribly stunted MW2 game with the 4 hour campaign, right? I remember when they threatened to cut off support for ps3 as the prices were too high. Wow.

  3. Activision makes such cheap and crap games,
and they are behind one of the biggest FPS franchises in the world,
yet they are “concerned about the pricing.”

    Bulls*!t.

  4. this is activision right?
the same activision that released ride for a hundred quid with a board that worked for only one game, i use “worked” in the loosest possible sense of the word there.
    yeah, right.
and the moral of the story is, you should buy activision’s overpriced plastic crap.
