Data-Fly Still Buzzing

Origo-games have updated their website to allay the fears of fans who’ve taken the perpetual radio silence about their innovative game Data-Fly as an indication of the title’s deathly status. Not so, apparently, as it would appear the sci-fi game is still very much zipping about the place and careening into unopened windows, albeit behind closed doors. The text states:

For those of you who followed our news up to the small teaser video of Data-Fly back at GDC 2009, most people assume the project is KIA. Since 2005 when we first announced Data-Fly the goal has always been to deliver a game that is truly unique in the Sci-fi genre. Currently, Data-Fly is still however a work in progress. We are currently exploring more mediums and we will be announcing more about this unique title in 2011. There is no ETA for release at this time, but fear not, you may see something preluding to the game soon enough.

This is what we said about Data-Fly back in our Games of 2010 feature from last year:

“Taking on the role of FLY, a nymph-esque female character we’re told is actually a nanotech enriched AI cyborg … type … thing, you attempt to rescue your creator, Azadeh, from a military base.”

The site also has a trailer up which we believe is the same footage that’s been doing the rounds for some time. Check it out though; if anything as a refresher of what will (hopefully soon) be on offer.

  1. the trailers looks pretty decent, we’ll have to see if the gameplay matches up.
still, one to keep an eye on.

  2. Look alright

  3. Speaking of flys, did you know that removing a flys gene sequence to make their eyes, add in a human gene sequence to make a human eye, the fly will make normal flys eyes?
    Damn thats a tongue twister.

  4. I’m gonna lay down a big ol ‘WTF?!’ and be done with it.

  5. Looking good to me
