CoD: Black Ops Special Editions Detailed

We already knew that two special edition packages would be available for November’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, and today Activision have detailed the contents.

Much like Modern Warfare 2, there will be both ‘Hardened’ and ‘Prestige’ editions of the game available at launch. The Hardened edition includes the game itself, a limited edition medal, a game-themed Avatar outfit for the 360, and four bonus co-operative maps.

The Prestige edition, however, will include possibly the best extra ever: a remote control car with a 200 foot range, which includes as a camera that transmits audio and colour video – inspired by the killstreak bonus, as seen in the multiplayer teaser. The Prestige edition will also include everything from the Hardened edition.

Hardened will retail for £69.99, with the Prestige version coming in at £129.99.

  1. I would rather spend £60 less and buy the codex edition of AC Brotherhood

  2. Hardened version for me maybe, I want to know what those 4 extra bonus maps are first though. Or I may do the sensible thing and get it cheap from a supermarket, still all depends on the whole paying for the whole multiplayer thing though!

  3. Activision really do deserve every shitty comment made about them.

  4. you can pick up the night vision goggles for around £50, so how much for the car?

  5. Is it just me or are there too many special editions these days? I don’t mind a little extra on the RRP if it’s in game content I actually want, a GotY edition with all previously released DLC (Borderlands please!) or something special to do with a truly classic game but a remote control car with an FPS which is in effect the 7th in its series?
I don’t know really … While we’re obviously not obliged to buy this stuff and it’s great to have choice it all just seems a little OTT to me.

  6. Really neat, this is going on the pre orderlist

  7. I bet if I got Hardened, no one else I know would, so the Co-Op factor would be redundant

  8. bloody hell. i really don’t like call of duty and i even thought of getting this!

  9. I hope Asda do the prestige edition for £26 lol

  10. It’s bad enough the car is in the game, now they’re selling it? REALLY???!!!
