Microsoft’s Major Nelson has just announced that as of November 1st there will be some changes to the price of your Xbox Live subscription. These are as follows;
He also had the following to say;
“Since launching Xbox LIVE in 2002 we have continually added more content and entertainment experiences for our members, while keeping the price the same. We’re confident that when the new pricing takes effect, an Xbox LIVE Gold membership will continue to offer the best value in the industry.”

on that graph, it says the monthly price is going up for the uk, but no mention of the annual or three month options, will they be staying the same then?
my brother pays for live but he got a new annual card a couple of months back.

thats the thing, paying every month to play Gears of War 2 its just shameful. Their second best game and its just unplayable online! Where are all those servers you are suposed to be paying?
The fact is you pay for a service that Sony is giving you for free with almost the same quality.

As an avid Live user I think it’s great value still at around £40 per year. I appreciate the PSN is free and fair play to Sony for that (I have both Xbox and PS3) but still do not begrudge paying MS an annual subsciption for Live as think it’s such a sound service. Like the old saying goes if you don’t like it vote with your feet / wallets.
