New Mortal Kombat Teaser Trailer

Confidence is high in the Mortal Kombat camp, and with good reason.  From what we’ve seen the new game is looking fantastic, but it’s not all about the blood and gore.  Creator Ed Boon had the following to say;

“We saw this opportunity to sort of give [fans] what they want on every single level – not just the fact that we’re going to an M-rated presentation, which is big, but give them the gameplay they’ve been clamoring for.

There’s been a lot of clamoring for Mortal Kombat to sort of return to the 2D stuff, and I think sort of Street Fighter has verified that’s a good direction. And also giving them a lot deeper of a gameplay experience than we’ve ever given.”

  1. Can’t wait for the new installment, Mortal Kombat always was my favorite fighting game

  2. Some familier faces and some familier levels I see. I hope its more than a update.

  3. LOL! Disturbed? SERIOUSLY?! That music does not go with the game at all. Still excited though. MK is back!!

    • Could have been worse… could have been coldplay…lol

      • Putting any soundtrack to a game is generally quite tacky imo. If they reeeally have to put a song to it, why couldn’t they just stick with the MK theme! TEST YOUR MIGHT.

  4. i hope this game has a lot more leeway in linking moves together than the previous MK games, the one thing i always disliked about mk was the there were a few predefined combos for each character and no room for mixing and matching to come up with your own.

    all the best beat em ups have let players link different moves together, if not in a true combo at least they fit together smoother than anything MK offered.

  5. I seriously wanted to stop watching the minute I realized what type of song they had used. Rock? Really? Mk has never had rock music, it’s always been more techno-ish. It’s just stereotypical of that type of music for this type of game! Hope the actual game holds more promise!
