Some gameplay footage of inFAMOUS 2 has emerged from The Eurogamer Expo 2010 – and whilst it looks good I’d just like to clarify a point regarding the combat. There was no one around the inFAMOUS 2 screen area to give a rundown of the controls and combos, so the footage shown makes the game look like a fairly basic ‘hack and slash’ affair – and this isn’t true.
Whilst watching the man (and legend) djhsecondnature play through the demo it became apparent there is a wealth of moves available. An example of this is a one move that sees Cole flip over the enemy and come crashing down on them in slow motion; whilst another sees Cole hook the enemy with his weapon (ooh err!) and fling them over his shoulder. There are also vicious kicks and knees to the face, which are wince inducing.

They should work a bit on those ‘steps’ that Cole (?) seem to be sliding through the street.
Other than that… we havent seen much, but looks like a very good job for those (like me) who liked the first game.

At the show there was a xbox fanboy next to us when we were watching it. He said there is no way graphics could look that good on a PS3. I pointed out the controller and that it was PS3 exclusive. He quickly left.

infamous was a great game but i regret paying full price for it, i platinumed it in 5 days and i wasnt even trying that hard.
i’ll wait to see if this one lasts longer or has online or co-op

So you mean to tell us that you finished the game twice in 5 days an that you got the “Rockhound: Find 100% of the Shards.” trophy without “trying that hard”.
Even if that is true, I think something here is very regrettable, but its not that you paid full price for the game.

Can’t help but agree. Surely you did the smart thing and sold it for close to what you paid for it. Thus, you had a game you played through twice and it only cost you a handful of pounds. Bargain and a great game to boot.

An ‘associate’ of mine who went to the Eurogamer thingy said the Infamous 2 stand was pretty well hidden, plus they had no attendant at it? Seems a bit thoughtless.
Heard it was looking excellent though, and happy to see the footage supports that.

Mmm… looking very good. Major grpahic improvement, which it needed, and the melee looks quite fun. I hope they vary the powers a bit more, and you can do something creative like combining powers a bit more. Only thing that I think they could improve on from this is the glowing wires/poles that have been mentioned above. Something more subtle would indeed be better. Impressive stuff though
