SEGA has de-listed poor or average Sonic The Hedgehog games so that they can no longer be bought new at retail. This has been done to ‘increase the value of the brand’ as the company push a very Sonic heavy Christmas period.
Sonic Colours for the Wii and DS, Sonic Free Riders for Kinect and Sonic 4 via XBLA, PSN and WiiWare will all be making an appearance. Sega’s SVP of EMEA – Jurgen Post – had the following to say:
“Any Sonic game with an average Metacritic has been de-listed.
We have to do this and increase the value of the brand. This will be very important when more big Sonic releases arrive in the future.”
Sonic 4: Episode 1 was released today on the iPhone/iPod Touch. Check out our sister site – Apptilt – for the full review.

What a petty move on Sega’s part.
Man up and OWN those mistakes rather than try to pretend they never happened, Sega.
