One Million PS Moves Sold In America

On the back of SCEE’s announcement regarding the success of the Move, SCEA boss Jack Tretton has confirmed that in North America and Latin America the Move has sold one million units in its first 30 days. He also had the following to say:

“PlayStation Move is the most recent example of how product innovation continues to provide our customers with new and exciting ways to enjoy our technology.

Retail demand is incredibly strong and we’re working hard to keep the product in stock. We believe consumers have already shown their preference for a precise, interactive game experience.

We are on target to meet our end of year goals and expect sales to increase as our publishers and developers continue to update popular titles and introduce new games.”

Move’s biggest rival – Microsoft’s Kinect – will be launching next month, and with a huge marketing budget behind it we wonder if it can topple Move’s figures.

  1. Lets wait until after Christmas and see if there has been a Kinect backlash from disgruntled players and parents over it’s preformance

  2. I continue to be surprised by how well the Move is doing, especially considering how lacking the dedicated software line up has been so far. Be interesting to see what happens when the fully developed titles start arriving.
